What do I believe in?

I'm a born again Christian. What does that mean? I believe there is a God, the God who is described in the Bible who loves every person on this earth and desires to have a relationship with them. I find it exciting to read the bible and learn about God. There's a verse in the bible which says 'For God so loved the world He gave His only Son, so whoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life'. This verse is at the heart of what I believe: it is through Jesus that I am able to have a relationship with God. God the Father sent Jesus (His son) to earth about 2000 years ago. Jesus has made a greater mark on history than anyone on the earth! The bible describes how Jesus lived a perfect life and was crucified when he was about 33 years old. Jesus said this of Himself: 'I am the way the truth and the life, no-one comes to the father except through me'. When Jesus died, He died for the sins of the world, I believe He died for all the wrong doings that you, me and everyone else did! According to the bible; 'If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved'! The bible says that Jesus has already come once to this earth on a rescue mission; to provide a way that people can receive forgiveness if the recognise their need, ask for forgiveness and choose to follow His ways described in the bible. However, the bible says that Jesus is coming again and the next time He comes, He will come to judge everyone on the earth and all those who have lived.

Jesus will only welcome and accept those who have followed Himself and will punish all those who have rejected Himself. Do you think that is unfair? No-one has done enough to deserve to spend forever in God's presence in heaven where there is no suffering, because everyone has done wrong things.

Some people try and put off or ignore the choice that they have in their life.

Why would you want to do that? God created you, loves you and wants to forgive you for all you have done wrong... Quick, whilst you are still breathing and have opportunity - think about it! The bible is a book which is historically accurate and has been compiled by numerous authors over many years. The bible reveals how God is a Holy God who is a God of love who desires to forgive and clean up people's lives. (If you're starting to read the bible for the first time, the book of John in the New Testament is a good place to start).

I'm a Christian; does that mean I've never done anything wrong? No it means I'm someone who has done wrong and I recognise it - which is why I need to be forgiven! If you've ever done anything wrong you also need to be forgiven... If you don't realise your need to be forgiven now, I guarantee 100% you will realise your need when you are judged by God!!! But it makes a lot more sense to act now, to ask for forgiveness now... Because when you die that's it, your life is over. The bible says you will not have another chance to repent when you're dead; you cannot be forgiven by God for all you have done wrong once you are dead - the only way is for you to be punished. Consider what I've shared and make a decision either way, whatever you do, if you do decide to follow God now, whilst you have the chance, go for it properly, don't be half hearted because Jesus says this about those who are like that 'because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth!'
